Power. Its something we all want. Power can be used for good and evil. But most certainly, power is magnetic; it draws people to us. Today, I want to talk about power phrases – how to create one of your own. And how to use them to become a better version of yourself.

What is a Power Phrase?

A power phrase is a short three-word sentence that you repeatedly tell yourself to alleviate stress and nervousness. However, it can be used for other things also.

Power phrases is a form of affirmation that allows us to manifest qualities that are important to us.

Why Should You Use One?

The reason to use power phrases is because it changes your whole identity if used correctly.

Let’s say you are generally lazy and unmotivated to do anything. If you create a powerful and identifiable phrase to you, you can change your lazy self to a productive one just with one power phrase.

Additionally, power phrases remind you of your goals and your aspirations. They can make you feel calm when you are angry or focused when you are unfocused. However, the most significant benefit of power phrases is its ability to raise your self-esteem.

As people, our self-esteem has a lot to do with our sense of self like who we are, what makes us unique, and what makes us feel like the most powerful or best version of ourselves.

When we create a power phrase, it allows us to instantly connect with that version of ourselves, where we feel in control and powerful.

How to Create a Power Phrase

To create a power phrase, start by thinking about some words and qualities that are important to you. Adjectives are ideally the best way to begin this. The adjectives must describe you in your ideal state or the person you want to be or capable of becoming.

A great way to start is by thinking of your goals. Are there specific attributes that you need to develop to accomplish these goals like being creative, calm, focused? Also, do consider what character trails will serve you along the way to your journey.

In essence, find three words that work for you. Or at least three to start with, to create your power phrase. Do keep in mind you can change your power phrase over time if it is not working for you, or you can have more than one for various scenarios and needs.

Upon creating your power phrase, make sure to write it down in a place where you will see it daily.

This could be on your mobile phone screen or a picture of the phrase in your bedroom to consistently see it when you wake up.

How to Use Your Phrase

This is by far the best part! You will need to find a place in your daily routine to practice saying your power phrase out loud to yourself.

This could be done every time you wake up or when you are brushing your teeth. One thing that I like to do personally is to allocate a specific time during the day to say my power phrase before I begin a task.

It is vital for you to say these words out loud as this will change your mindset and change you to the person you want to be.

It would be best if you tried this for a week, but the longer you do it, the better results you will experience.

If saying your power phrase aloud is scary for you, you can always meditate on it and envision yourself becoming the person you know you are meant to be.

To end this off, I will share with you some of my personal favorite power phrases…

I am focused, powerful, strong

I am motivated, intelligent, happy

I am creative, confident, powerful

These are the three power phrases that I personally use in my life, feel free to use them!
